Just Enough to be Dangerous

Most kids dreamed of being astronauts,  veterinarians, or firefighters. Not me. I, Katie Romo, wanted to be...a cow cleaner at the Wisconsin State Fair. 

Yep, that's right. I thought it looked fun. And though that never really panned out, I found my calling in the unique world of Environmental, Health, and Safety. I've devoted the last 10 years to learning about EHS and its complex relationship with people - and now I want to share that with you. 

When I'm not working on the podcast, I'm your average Midwestern gal. I enjoy walks in the woods with my husband, our kids, and our dog. I love to sew (but not quilt) and crochet, and can usually be found in my kitchen or garden.

Whether you're on your own for the first time or totally new to the field, I've got your back. I've been fortunate enough to work with teams of talented EHS professionals who helped me learn the skills to handle an EHS program solo. And now I'm here to help you do the same. When I was managing workplace safety alone for the first time, I wished I had someone I could call for a quick time out, to give me a basic roadmap, to give some friendly advice. This is what I wish I could have had 10 years ago, and I'm delighted to put it all out into the world now.  Though I have a Master of Science and am board-certified in Safety, I definitely don't know everything. I always want to learn more, and that's why I say that I know Just Enough to Be Dangerous.
